Energy is something we take for granted when in reality it doesn’t come to us easily. Making sure that you can still charge your phone overnight or watch TV at home requires a lot of collaboration between many different actors.
However, the relationship between the energy company and its customers has remained very much the same since the invention of electricity. It’s quite self-evident that even this relationship has to be updated to meet the needs of changing societies.
Oulun Energia, which was founded in 1889, is one of the oldest energy companies in Finland and they want to have their fingers on the pulse of customer needs in a rapidly changing society.
In this project, you get to shape the future of energy! Some of the questions that you will need to ponder during this project are:
*What do customers want from an energy company?
*How can external/open data sources be used to help an energy company serve its customers?
*What can an energy company do with the data it collects that it isn't already doing?
*What new technologies can be implemented by an energy company to provide more or better services?
